As women, we have many duties; to our lords, to our respected schools and as parents (literal or spiritual), to our youths - the future of our nation. Titus 2 states part of the aged women duties is to teach good things. Deuteronomy 6:7 And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.
Letting go of our past is something we must do as we become new creatures in this truth, this includes the pain and hurt of past relationships. We must learn to forgive and not holding any grudges especially towards your children, Leviticus 19:18 Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself: I am the LORD. As we learn to be mothers, sisters, aunts and wives we must allow forgiveness in all aspects of our lives. Letting go of the old woman. For some it may take some outside help like counsel, being around the body and even an act of God, so don’t forget to fast and pray. The goal is to move forward and to rebuild a righteous relationship.
Ezekiel 16:44 Behold, every one that useth proverbs shall use this proverb against thee, saying, As is the mother, so is her daughter. Speech can build or tear down a person affecting the overall relationship. This is no different in a mother daughter relationship. In the world we may have seen or have been a part of a toxic mother daughter relationship. Seeing or being in one of these relationships can have heavy repercussions like causing insecurities that are then pushed onto the daughter. We must speak in a manner that will build up when we are correcting our daughters, avoiding being abusive but instructive. This will allow her to accept and reflect on the correction and may even create bonding opportunities.
Along with good speech to allow acceptance and reflection, you have now shown that you can effectively communicate without tearing down. There is a reason we were born with 2 ears and one mouth, James 1:19 Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath. The Most High gives instructions in everything, especially how we are to communicate with each other including our children. The goal is to tech, to build them to grow and endure in the truth so apply Ephesians 4:29 Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.
To repair damaged relationships from the world we must first forgive ourselves and others. Understanding that the children are a heritage of the Lord and a reward to the womb Psalm 127: 3, so what do YOU want to leave behind? Remember our thoughts become our words, our words become our actions, our actions become our habits, our habits become our character, our character becomes our destiny, and our destiny are our children, MHNCB
